9th Annual Mesilla Valley Amateur Invitational

The New Mexico State University Golf Course is proud to present the 9th Annual Mesilla Valley Amateur Invitational Golf Tournament.  As always, your entry fee will cover all activities including your tournament entry fee, cart fees, your entry into the skins game each day, the closest to the pin contests each day. This year we will be using 80% of each player’s handicap and limiting the size of the field to 120 players. We have lowered the entry fee this year in an effort to encourage more play but we will not have some of the things we have had in the past such as the door prizes and lunch.
 
Starting next year, the dates for the tournament will move and we will have a format change. Starting in 2011, the event will move to the spring and will be both a 2-Man Best Ball and an Individual Competition.
 
FORMAT: Championship Flight - Stroke Play - No Handicap - 3.0 index max.
***Players over 50 years of age will play from the BLUE Tees in a Senior Division.
     All other Flights - Stroke Play – 80% Handicap.
***All Players in 1st and 2nd Flight will play from the BLUE Tees.
***Players over 70 years of age may play from the WHITE Tee Markers in 3rd Flight     
     and higher flights.                            
    NOTE:  1. Championship Flight will be limited to 30 players while all other flights   
                will have approximately 24 players. 
                2. The field will be limited to the first 120 paid entries.
                3. Women’s Flight limited to 24 players – 80% Handicap.
 
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: 
Friday, August 27 - Practice Round and Skins Game. Half price greens fees all day.
 
Saturday, August 28 - Round 1. 8:00am Shotgun Start

Sunday, August 29 - Round 2.  8:00am Shotgun Start
 
 
ENTRY FEE: $110 - Includes 2 Days of Golf, Carts, Skins Game and
                              Closest to the Pin Contests on Saturday and Sunday.
 
Field limited to first 120 paid entries.

PRIZES: $8,200 purse minimum with full field. Half of the field will be paid.   $60 of each entry will go to prizes. The NMSU Golf Course will add a minimum of $1000 to the prize fund.
