2009 McGladrey Team Championship

The McGladrey Team Championship is the first nationwide grassroots best-ball amateur championship conducted by The PGA of America.  This will be its third year with an enhancement to its format and a third consecutive return for the National Championship at Pinehurst (N.C.) Resort.

A local qualifying event for the 2009 McGladrey Team Championship will be held at the NMSU Golf Course on Saturday, July 18 starting at approximately 10:00am.  The entry fee for the tournament will be $55 per person plus applicable greens fees and cart fees.  The entry fee does include a tee prize valued at more than the entry fee we are charging for the event.  

The qualifying event will be Three Person Team playing a 1 Net Best Ball format using 75% of your USGA handicap.  The maximum handicap for the team cannot exceed 54.0 for a team of three males, 70.0 for a team of two males and one female, 80.0 for a team of one male and two females and 90.0 for a team of three females.  Depending on the number of participants in the field, either one or two teams will advance to the Section Championship at the Desert Lakes Golf Course in Alamogordo.  Each team will be joined by an NMSU Golf Course Professional and the four will play for a purse of $10,000 with the winning team advancing to the National Championship to be held at the Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina.
